Debut on the royal stage

This year’s Concours of Elegance, which took place from the 5^th to the 7^th of September 2025 on the grounds of Hampton Court Palace near London, once again delighted numerous automobile fans from across the world with exquisite classic cars. The top-class line-up was perfectly complemented by a finely curated selection of mechanical masterpieces from A. Lange & Söhne – including two new timepieces.

The Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace is one of the highlights of the classic car scene in Great Britain. Since 2018, A. Lange & Söhne has been the presenting partner of this prestigious pageant for automobiles, in which around 60 rare and valuable works of art on wheels are presented in the magnificent gardens of Hampton Court Palace.

This year's edition culminated with the presentation of the “Best of Show” award on Sunday, which Lange CEO Wilhelm Schmid presented to the owner of a Rolls-Royce Phantom 1 “The Phantom of Love” from the year 1926. Schmid also awarded the winner of the “Thirty Under 30” category for his Toyota Sprinter Carib from 1983. With these awards, the German manufacturer expresses its respect for the passion and commitment to the preservation of these automotive cultural assets. Much like the mechanical masterpieces from A. Lange & Söhne, these fine automobiles epitomise the fascinating combination of engineering skill and exquisite craftsmanship that has inspired generations.

Two new timepieces in the spotlight

Another special tradition for A. Lange & Söhne is the presentation of selected timepieces, during which visitors are invited on a journey of discovery into the world of the German manufacture. This year, the spotlight was on the new 1815 TOURBILLON and the RICHARD LANGE JUMPING SECONDS that celebrated their world premiere during the Concours of Elegance and were simultaneously presented to clients at numerous events in major cities around the world.

The technically sophisticated design of the tourbillon, featuring stop-seconds and ZERO-RESET function, is given a particularly elegant face in the new 1815 TOURBILLON. The limited edition of 50 pieces is equipped with a deep black Grand Feu enamel dial crafted entirely in the manufacture.

The RICHARD LANGE JUMPING SECONDS combines technical precision with individual elegance. With the unique combination of a constant-force escapement, jumping seconds and ZERO-RESET mechanism, the timepiece continues to set standards in terms of rate accuracy and legibility nine years after its initial launch. The 750 pink-gold dial's warm hue contrasts with the cool tone of the white-gold case and gives this new edition, limited to 100 pieces, its special charm.

Those in attendance were able to appreciate how A. Lange & Söhne's watchmaking artistry is reflected not only in the technical sophistication of their movements, but also in the elaborate finishing of each individual component. For example, visitors could watch an engraver from the Glashütte manufacture engrave a balance cock – a process that makes every Lange watch, including the two new models, one-of-a-kind.
