Alpine backdrop for watchmaking artistry
A. Lange & Söhne presents new timepieces at the Concours of Elegance Germany
The second edition of the Concours of Elegance Germany, which took place on the 25th and 26th of July 2025 at Gut Kaltenbrunn in Bavaria, once again attracted numerous classic car enthusiasts from all over the world to Lake Tegernsee. Visitors got to experience classic cars as well as traditional fine watchmaking from A. Lange & Söhne.
The Concours of Elegance Germany at Lake Tegernsee is the new jewel in the crown of the classic car scene in Germany. After last year’s successful premiere, A. Lange & Söhne was once again the presenting partner of this prestigious beauty contest for motorised masterpieces. Around 50 of the rarest and most precious classic cars and a further 100 rarities in special exhibitions from top brands and private collections celebrated automotive history, outstanding engineering and quality craftsmanship against the backdrop of the Alpine foothills.
The event culminated on Saturday with the presentation of the ‘Best of Show’ award. Lange CEO Wilhelm Schmid presented Gerhard Huber, the owner of a 1932 Austro Daimler Bergmeister, with the coveted certificate featuring a hand-engraved balance cock made of gold-plated German silver. He also honoured Kilian Kozka, the winner of the new ‘Emerging Collectors’ category, for his 1978 Porsche 930 Turbo.
Technical refinement meets progressive design
The prestigious event provided the adequate stage for inviting the international collector community on a journey of discovery into the world of A. Lange & Söhne and highlighting the many parallels between automotive culture and watchmaking. In addition to a carefully curated selection of timepieces, the new ZEITWERK DATE in pink gold was also in the spotlight. With its jumping mechanical-digital time display and its innovative date ring, it lends a modern face to the traditional art of watchmaking. The replica of the new model variant in a giant format was an impressive and eye-catching focal point amidst the motorised elegance. It offered visitors in-depth insights into A. Lange & Söhne fine watchmaking while simultaneously emphasising the technical and aesthetic features of the new timepiece.
“After enjoying the magic of the premiere last year, we were delighted to appreciate the beauty of an emerging ritual this year. It was a great pleasure for us to be involved in the Concours of Elegance Germany for the second time as a presenting partner,” said Wilhelm Schmid, CEO of A. Lange & Söhne. “This extraordinary event is an impressive expression of our shared understanding of craftsmanship, innovation and hospitality.”
