A. Lange & Söhne celebrates Chinese New Year

To celebrate the “Year of the Ox”, A. Lange & Söhne presents two models of its famous LANGE 1 series, which ideally embodies the qualities associated with this zodiac animal, in a festive setting. Reliable and trustworthy by nature, the ox impresses with inner values – just like the LANGE 1 and its smaller sibling, the LITTLE LANGE 1 MOON PHASE. And like the watchmakers at the Lange manufactory in Glashütte, Germany, who decorate and assemble the mechanical movements meticulously by hand, people born in the sign of the ox put their whole heart into everything they do.

The connecting elements of the LANGE 1 and the LITTLE LANGE 1 MOON PHASE are the characteristic eccentric dial layouts with the typical Lange outsize date and the UP/DOWN power-reserve indicator. Their 18K rose gold cases share the same straightforward design, which is matched by the traditional elements of Saxon fine watchmaking to be discovered on the inside. In both exquisite timepieces, the arrangement of the iconic outsize date, the time displays, and the power-reserve indicator is based on the golden ratio.

The main difference lies in the dimensions: The LANGE 1 has a 38.5-millimetre case, while the diameter of the LITTLE LANGE 1 MOON PHASE is 1.7 millimetres smaller. Its exquisitely guilloched, argenté-coloured gold dial provides a persuasive backdrop for the enigmatic aura of the moon phase, which runs so precisely that it only needs to be corrected by one day every 122.6 years. Thereby it reflects yet another property attributed to the oxen who, no matter what, will walk down the road they choose until the very end.
